I have dedicated this blog to my maternal grandmother, Esther Vivian (Fossmo) Martineau. She was so proud of her Norwegian heritage and tried to get all of us to remember that heritage that had been "forgotten". Without her records and sharing, much of this page would not be possible.
Esther Vivian Fossmo was born on 8 Feb 1925 at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, the daughter of Tom Fossmo (Tormod Andreassen Forsmo) and Magda Alvhilde Nilsdatter Hagfors. She married Norris "Butch" Elmer Martineau, son of William Martineau and Amelia Amanda Schleif, on 8 Nov 1942 at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. She died on 18 Dec 2002 at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, Hennepin, Minnesota, at age 77. She had a drapery and sewing business in her home in Long Lake, MN. She made many things for us kids.
"Grandma M", as we called her, loved life and was so loving to her family. Her Christian faith was demonstrated in her thoughtful notes and creative gifts. Her laughter and smile cheered us all ("Uff da").
We love and miss you "Grandma M".
